Hebels Restaurant, located in the former Wynward
Inn, opened early September 2006 and features casual fine dining
in the intimate setting of the mid-19th century Victorian home on
Stellarton Road. Owned and operated by restaurateur and chef Peter
Hebel, Hebels Restaurant will seat 30
and will serve dinner five days each week.
Originally from Germany, Hebel
has worked in restaurants worldwide.
Chef Hebel's resumé includes cooking for: Swiss ski resorts, a stint in Egypt,
caterings that involved flights to New York City, cruise ships,
The Maritimes, Tahiti, and the Caribbean. Later, came a year at the Post Hotel in Lake Louise,
Alberta, followed by owning Granny Bogners, a fine dining restaurant in
Penticton, British Columbia.
Peter Hebel moved to the East Coast in
pursuit of the small-town way of life and thus came to
the Maritimes to pursue his next dream. Hebel's Restaurant attracts diners
celebrating special occasions such as anniversaries and holidays
as well as business diners. The restaurant features a private
dining area, separated by sliding wooden doors, that can be booked
in advance for larger groups and the piano located in the
restaurants lobby is available for live music
on the occasional evening or weekends.
